If you are in search of the real Rock N' Roll heart of Portland, visit Geno's on Congress St. on a weekend night. Seedy but friendly, the 25 year history of Geno's began as a genuine port of the punk scene back in 1983. Most of us Portland Rockers cut our teeth there and were given our first gigs by Geno, himself, at its original Brown St. location. Now owned and operated by his son, J.R., Geno's on Congress St. remains the core of Portland's original Rock Scene.
